Dallas Love Field is helping organize a free procurement training program for Texas airports in collaboration with Partners for Public Good. The program will include two virtual, 60-minute trainings focused on practical topics that come up often for airport teams: writing stronger scopes of work and choosing the right solicitation method, such as RFP, RFQ, IDIQ, or sole source. The program will also offer free virtual consultations with experts from Partners for Public Good to tackle a specific procurement challenge or offer feedback on procurement documents such as solicitations.
This opportunity is intended for procurement staff, airport project managers, analysts, division staff, and others who help develop scopes or work with procurement. Trainings will include examples geared toward airport operations, facilities, services, and similar purchases, with opportunities to learn from peer airports facing similar challenges. There is no cost to participate.
If you’re interested, please fill out this short Expression of Interest by Friday, June 12th.

This is a free, virtual training series focused on two foundational procurement skills: 1) how to write effective scopes of work (SOWs), and 2) how to select the right solicitation method (e.g., RFP, RFQ, IDIQ, sole source). Sessions are designed to be practical and hands-on, using real airport procurement examples.
The training is being designed and delivered by Partners for Public Good (PPG), in partnership with the City of Dallas Department of Aviation (Dallas Love Field/DAL). PPG specializes in strengthening procurement practices across public sector agencies.
Nothing! This training is offered at no cost to participating airports thanks to philanthropic funding.
All sessions will be delivered virtually via Zoom. Sessions will be recorded so staff who cannot attend live can watch on their own time.
There will be two sessions total held on two separate days in July and August. Exact dates will be scheduled based on participants’ availability. Each training session is approximately 60 minutes.
The core commitment for staff is to attend two 60-minute virtual training sessions, engage actively in discussions and exercises, and share relevant examples or context from your airport. Beyond attending the sessions themselves, there is no required preparation or homework.
This training is designed for staff who regularly work with procurement, such as staff who develop or submit solicitations or scopes of work. Staff do not need to sit in the procurement division to participate; division staff are also welcome. We recommend sending 1-3 representatives from your airport.
Bringing together peer airports that operate under similar city-governed structures creates a richer learning experience. City-governed airports have different needs and resources than larger regional hubs, and meeting with similarly-resourced airports creates an opportunity for participants to compare practices, build relationships with counterparts, and hear how other airports handle common challenges.
We hope your airport will! Dallas Love Field has already committed to participating, and we anticipate being joined by a handful of other city-governed airports across Texas.
Yes, both sessions will be recorded. We encourage participants to attend the training live to get the most out of the learning experience and activities.
Yes! Following the training sessions, PPG staff will be available for one-on-one virtual consultations to answer questions and review draft scopes of work or procurement approaches.
Fill out this form no later than 11:59pm CT on Friday, June 12. Be sure to include contact information for any team members who will be participating.
